Xbox One Backward Compatible Games Listed

Yesterday Microsoft revealed their list of 104 Xbox 360 games who will be supported to play on the Xbox One once the new update hits on November 12th. The full list of games can be viewed at the bottom of this article.

The first interesting thing to note is that the list consists of 29 disk based games while the remaining 75 are Xbox Live Arcade games. It's worth noting that you can not access the Xbox 360 store through the Xbox One, so if you're looking to purchase any of these games you would have to either visit Microsoft's webpage or fire up your old console to confirm the purchase.

Microsoft also points out that this is only the beginning. Starting in December, more backward compatible games will be announced on a regular basis. More titles are on their way, including fan favorites like Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3. In addition, all Xbox 360 games available through Games With Gold after the update will also be playable on the Xbox One.

Pleasant surprise

It was during E3 that Microsoft first announced that they were working on a way to make sure that Xbox 360 games would be playable on the Xbox One. The New Xbox One Experience, which is what Microsoft calls the new update, will release on November 12th. In addition to backwards compatibility, the update will also introduce a completely refurbished UI which will make the console faster and easier to use.
