Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Public Beta Starts Today

By Elisabeth Elvestad

We are slowly creeping closer to the launch of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, which is scheduled for February 25th. If you want to have a preview of what you can expect, and you own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One, you can take part in the Public Beta which will start some time today.

The Public Beta will open today and will go on until January 18th, which will give the most avid players a full 4 days to play a sample of the upcoming game. As this is a beta and not a trial, there will be certain things missing from the beta which will still be present in the full game. These things include: No split screen, no solo play, a level cap at 10 and no achievements. Also note that any progress made during the beta will not carry over to the full game upon launch.

There has been no official timestamp from EA about when we can expect the public beta to start, but reddit seems to be better informed than most and a user has made a little post detailing when the beta will go live. If this post is correct, this means that most of Europe will not actually get access until the 15th (2AM GMT).

To take part in the Public Beta, simply go to your console's marketplace and download the beta from there. Also note that players will be required to have Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus to play, as this is an online experience.
