Free Multiplayer For PS4 This Weekend

By Callum Polak

Europe will be fortunate to have access to Multiplayer game modes for free on PlayStation 4 consoles this weekend, says Sony.

The free multiplayer will begin on Friday 13 at 6am (GMT) and end on Monday 16, 6am for all users in Europe. For PlayStation 3 and PS Vita users, online services are free to use, however PlayStation 4 users wishing to play with their friends online usually have to pay for this service via Playstation Plus.

During the monthly £5.49 subscription, users have access to a catalogue of free games including Thief and indie platformer, Rogue Legacy.

On the PlayStation blog, Sony wrote that ‘Now couldn’t be a better time to take advantage of this great opportunity, with huge PS4 multiplayer titles like Destiny, GTA V, Far Cry 4 and FIFA 15 firing on all cylinders on PlayStation Network.’
Although non-subscribers will get free access to multiplayer this weekend, they will not be able to access free monthly games, additional PS discounts and cloud storage is only available if you were subscribed to the service.
